NLIS
We run the Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum with enrichment in its content and mode of instruction to build
our learners for different examination conditions in and outside Ghana.
NLIS emphasizes positive personal values, high achievement and meaningful participation in the community.
The school, therefore, aims to provide a springboard to lifelong learning. From early childhood to junior high school,
NLIS helps each learner become aware of his or her individual learning style and provides learners the tools needed
to excel in an array of endeavors.
Northern Light International School (NLIS) is a private, independent school that serves communities in and around
Tamale as well as the northern part of Ghana and beyond. As such, NLIS boasts of learners from diverse geographic
areas, tribes and religious backgrounds. The school opened its doors in September 2018 to include Pre-school (Crèche,
Nursery and Kindergarten) and Primary School (Grade 1 – Grade 4). Due to great interest and demand, the school accepted
learners in Grade 6 at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school-year and JHS 1 learners for the 2021 school-year, which
began in January 2021. The school has continued to grow and graduated its first batch of JHS 3 learners in December 2023.
The school is centrally located in Tamale along the Nobisco-TaTU road and diagonally across from the Camfed regional office.

Superior performance in standardized tests from learners demonstrates how good our facilitators are. Learners can design tutorials in subjects of special interest under the guidance of a facilitator.
Various indoor games ranging from puzzles, brain teasers and many more keep the learners of NLIS sharp and enable them develop critical problem-solving techniques.
NLIS encourages a healthy lifestyle. Hence, we engage our learners in various sporting events under the guidance of our enthusiastic sports facilitators. A healthy mind in a healthy body.
